Two asylum seeker boats intercepted

Jason Clare – minister for home affairs – in statements released today reported interception of two boat-load of asylum seekers in Australian waters.

Border Protection Cammand’s ship HMAS Warramunga rendered assistance to a vessel north-west of Christmas Island last night. It was carrying 127 asylum-seekers.

Another boat carrying 34 asylum seekers and two crew members had been intercepted north of Christmas Island on Tuesday, 2 July 2013.
