Home Affairs’ Minister Jason Clare, in media statements, reported arrival of two more asylum seeker boats on Australian shores.

HMAS Bathurst and HMAS Warramunga, operating under the coordination of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority’s Rescue  rendered assistance to first boat yesterday west of the Christmas Island.

Initial indications suggest, there were 54 passengers and two crew on board.

Meanwhile, another boat carrying, reportedly, 19 asylum seekers has also been intercepted by Customs east of Island this morning.

Border and Protection Command has moved the passengers to the Island for initial medical, security and identity checks.
