Two asylum seeker boats carrying 175 people have been intercepted off the West Australian coast.
ACV Ocean Protector found a boat carrying 100 people west of Ashmore Islands on Tuesday.
HMAS Larrakia intercepted a boat with 75 on board north of Ashmore Islands also on Tuesday.
The passengers from both boats will be taken to Christmas Island for security, health and identity checks.
People arriving by boat without a visa after August 13, 2012 run the risk of transfer to a regional processing country.
